Garfield"s Hero

I was so excited to have my pic taken with one of ELA's most celebrated heroes. Heroes such as Mr. Jaime Escalante, a teacher working at Garfield High School who went over and above the call of duty, inspired a successful film starring James Edward Olmos, titled "Stand and Deliver". It just so happened I attended the same school for two grades, and I remember how their impact played an important role in our lives. So much success can be traced back to sometimes even seeming a small moment in your life changed the whole platform.

I celebrate those people who have made a difference in someones lives directing them to a more positive and successful life and career. Let us all for one moment as you read this close your eyes for a min and send out a positive message to those that helped you or your loved one(s) most in life. If they no longer are present in this life, send your positive energy out for their loved ones.

I caught up with him at the Latin Heritage Ceremony hosted by L.A's Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, downtown at City Hall. After the ceremony honoring Jaime Escalante, Sheila E and Jimmy Smits, guests were entertained by all of the above on stage out on the south lawn @ city Hall. The start to the Latino Heritage Month.

Do something nice for someone today!

Peace upon you
